    Sex Offenders

The laws really seem to be set up to protect sex offenders. It use to be if one moved into your area the sheriff's office had to let everyone know but had up to 2 weeks to do so. A lot of harm could occur before then plus the offender could leave for another area by then.

Now, they don't even do that. Pictures of sex offenders use to be kept on bulletin boards at local PD's but who can go look every couple of days? I suppose because of all the crimes against cops now you can't even enter the police station in my area. You press a button and speak into the mic indicating what you want.

Being alerted is more important if you have young children but everyone has a right to know. It's bad enough they are being allowed into residential areas as it is w/o keeping it a secret.

Police in Florida say that a man was arrested after he allegedly attempted to "purchase" a young girl from her parents at a grocery store for $100,000 on Aug. 16.

If the names of child molesters were published, Joe Biden would be at the head of the list.

In some locals, truth and justice is supposed to be served by publishing the names, addresses, contact information of citizens who exercise their 2nd Amendment rights by owning and using firearms, even to the point of concealed carrying firearms. Why would it not also be a service to truth and justice to do the exact same thing by publishing the names, etc. of child molesters? Sincerely. bruce.

I think you may have answered my question.

Criminals of all kinds are victims and our new heroes.
Be careful lest they warn neighbors about you.

Because of all the protection/secrecy you never know who your neighbor is, or is going to be, putting lives in danger and life long trauma.

I do not like telling this, but it is true.

My next door neighbor (Jeff) is a disabled veteran that was shot in Iraq, only to be blown up in Afghanistan by a IED. He was the only survivor of the 5 men in the vehicle. He wound up in Fort Hood, Texas being treated for wounds and the mental problems caused by his injuries.

His psycho Dr. was the Muslim Major that killed 13 soldiers, wounded 23 in the Fort Hood
Massacre. He was in the room and wounded again but helped get tourniquets on the female security officer that took down the shooter.

Unfortunately, Jeff is totally F?d up with PTSD. He has been married to 3 beautiful wives in the past 10 years and abused them terribly.

Bottom line, PTSD is very real.

New Jersey has a Sex Offender Internet Registry, readily accessible, you enter a street address to find Registered Sex Offenders within a given radius, it show names, pictures, addresses. NJ schools do background sweeps, one school found one of its custodians was an RSO. I have heard in some jurisdictions on Halloween the police, Sheriffs departments make sure the RSOs have no decorations, lights out, don't even think of answering the door.
