The people are becoming inured to the killings ...

If something extraordinary continues for long enough it becomes ordinary.
Every day the news reports of killings, muggings, rapes and robberies build
to a crescendo which culminates with the Monday morning figures showing
just how many fell victim to these outrages. At first people gasped at these
numbers, but as the numbers got bigger and harder to digest, those gasps
are slowly turning into yawns. I've noticed my own reaction to the numbers
and have realized they're not going to improve until the democrats in charge
of these Cities are ousted. But when is that going to happen ? The democrat
voters show no inclination, at least none that I can see of changing their
vote preferences, so it will continue unabated.
I don't live in those places and those that do brought this on themselves. Yawn.

DT ... are you yawning at the Uvalde massacre in a very strong Republican dominated area ... or perhaps the Parkland massacre in a predominantly Republican area.

Should we go back and revisit 500 shot from a hotel window in Las Vegas ? Check out the crime stats in FT. Myers Fl. A Republican city in a Republican state .

This is happening in America and vote preferences have squat to do with it .

      [QUOTE=Sandpebble;638913]DT ...

You and I had this discussion before when you tried that trick of picking out one Republican city that had a high crime rate and neglected to mention all the other many dozens of Democrat cities that have more crimes! Poor selective posting!

You pick out a few crimes perhaps we should mention all the other numerous Democratic cities that are just exploding with crime!

America's safest and most dangerous cities in 2022

If anyone wants to take the time,,They can break down the stats further down by them selves! But I doubt that anyone would be surprised!

          well,

          where to start

you are actually more shallow than Togor, when it comes to posting news ,
          so lets start

Ulvade, where a kid with known issues was ignored, and the cops stood around for an hour while kids that could have possibly been saved, bled out,

          Parkland,
where the cops ignored the threat for ages, again the kid had known problems then when it happened the police on duty hid or stayed back (why risk retirement bennies?)

Las Vegas, hindsight and the police reports suggest he was a right wing nut, or had not motive and just snapped, or his wife or girlfriend, or both, were his handlers,
there are theories that the FBI groomed him and others that say he was ignored by the fbi despite his history,

          we will likely never know,

funny thing, when you start believe everything the media puts in front of you, like you do Pebbles, and not think for your self, you start to be part of the background noise, as in no one listens

The point is that this discussion will go on indefinite because we've {Americans } allowed ourselves to be mentally controlled by two groups . No where else do people follow party line so strictly as the United States with no thoughts of their own.

It is at the point there is a blind following of a Dem or Rep stance on 100% of the issues to the point a non issue becomes one. The gun problem... and it is a problem ... is happening in the United States . period. But somehow we have to crunch numbers and mention how it's worse in Democratic areas { which in all likely hood are inhabited by 48 % Republican }. How we treat a disease becomes a partisan issue , whether or not we need deal with pollution becomes a partisan issue ....

You talk to me Lyman about believing everything the media puts in front of me yet you do so directly after mentioning a "theory" that the FBI may have groomed a killer .... that's another serious problem here in the U.S. The incredible gullibility of those who accuse the media as being fake. I mean look at some the crap we swallow and believe here in the US while attacking the media

QAnon ...really ? recently some of it's followers stood in the pouring rain for John Kennedy Jr. to show up and become President. Jewish laser beams started the Cal fires ...Fauci tortures beagles , there was a guy on NewsMax recently that believes the Illuminati has a secret headquarters under the Denver Airport ...could go on all day because the only media never accused of being fake is The National Enquirer. No need to mention what side of the aisle believes this crap is there?

I was at a yard sale just this Friday and an argument broke out between four people over some thing you've espoused right here and that being Jan. 6 was peaceful protest by Americans exercising their rights . Even a frigging yard sale becomes partisan , I mean I don't even understand how it became a topic among people shopping for junk tools. But political discourse is the only thing on any one minds any more. Just gotta get up grab a coffee and turn on the news to see what we are supposed to be pissed off about today

Excuse me! but you were helping to push the problem by posting about one Republican city with a high crime rate where as almost all of the high crime percentages in the US occur in the Dem cities and not in Republican cities. Which was a big distortion of facts and the distorting of facts is not the way to seek a solution!

I never mentioned Q,, and I mentioned several theories, from both sides

you really need to go back are re read my posts on Jan 6,,,,,

I will agree with your last paragraph, both sides are so polarized there may be no turning back,
