Was there not a TV series about that kind of scenario a few years ago? I think that it may have been called "Designated Survivor" or something like that. As I recall, it was not a nuclear weapon but s large number of conventional explosions.

It only lasted 2 or 3 seasons--the plot started getting complex and funky but it did point out what COULD happen.

Not long ago, a very few months before the queen died, prince William and his entire family took a short helicopter ride together. The queen had a fit and called them all in to discuss AGAIN the importance of traveling in separate vehicles just in case. In the case of the UK it would have really been bad with Harry next in line (at the time).

In America, to stop the commie line of succession the hits would need to start at the bottom and progress up. Biden's best security is the fact that Harris would be next in line. No one, not even the democrats, want that.
