Bad Firearms News From Canada

In its continuing quest to show that it's "doing something" about firearms violence in Canada, the Liberal government continued its policy of punishing the innocent rather than the guilty and banned the sale, transfer, purchase or importation of handguns. The rule took effect yesterday. Due to the process for getting a firearms licence in Canada, it is well known that citizens who possess such a licence are statistically far less likely to commit a crime than the general public but because of that truism, it also means that they will obey stupid laws such as this one.

It is also well known that a majority of homicides in Canada are committed by gang members who are, of course, not licensed and who use handguns smuggled in the the USA. This new rule will of course not change their behavior a bit
