I voted on Monday and got my driver's license renewed today.
The line was long on Monday morning for early voting in Texas but all the glitches seem to have been worked out (at least where I live) with the new machines which kick out a paper back up. The line was long but moved quickly. Total time to complete the very long ballot, from getting out of the car to getting back in,...about 40 minutes.
The other really good news was on driver's license renewal. Every other renewal in Texas has to be done in person, hate that. The good news is Texas has designated by appointment only sites. I made an appointment on line for 8:00 in the morning today. I was in and out in less than 30 minutes!!! Now if you prefer not to do that or don't have a computer you'll still be stuck at a site with the old system where you might spend at least a couple of hours to get renewed but whatever makes it easier, right??? I might have to ditch my driver's license jokes.
