For all the bluster and posturing, the Chinese are not shooting. And depending on the way Russia's invasion of the Ukraine turns out, they probably won't -- if the Ukraine wins, that will cool the Chinese ardor.

Changing the topic a little, I've wondered if the Ukraine wins and Russia is weakened enough would China try to overtake Russia while they could. I know that would be their problem and little concern for us EXCEPT it would really give the Chinese a chance to further overpopulate and become an unstoppable power.

I doubt it -- China's ambitions are along the seacoast and adjoining islands, not in Siberia.

Hope you're right but Russia has a lot of coast and a lot of natural resources. They also border Russia somewhat so an easy part there.
