They are getting clobbered it seems. I had no idea how the losses were piling up. Ukraine says they have killed 70,000 Russians and destroyed over 2,500 tanks. That's incredible. In less than a year?!

The numbers add up. Russia is fighting WWII style. Problem, Russia does not have the supplies of men and material necessary. Ukraine is fighting this Russian invasion w/ the same weapons as used by Russia and other former combloc nations. As well, Ukraine is fighting this invasion using men motivated to defend their nation, weapons that have been converted to more effective usage and of course outdated weapons offloaded by the former combloc nations as well as weapons as up to date as tomorrow's twitter feed provided by many multiple NATO members. All in all, it is a delightful demonstration that the day is passed of massed men and machines overwhelming even a small but prepared and determined nation. Gee. Makes one thing of 1940 ... Actually, they're NOT fighting WWII style. The Classic Russian tactic is to fight en echelon, two up and one back. The rear element is spread across the whole front. Each element also adopts the two up, one back formation, and each sub-element, and so on. This disperses the force laterally and in depth, and at any holdup, reinforcements arrive automatically.
Recall the 40-mile long convoy? That ain't the old Russian way of doing it -- that's the dumkopf way!!Comment
