I suppose that being fired is a lot better than "falling" from a third story window in India as happened the other day to one of Putin's critics. Of course, it's still likely that in a week or so, Col-Gen Chenovoltsev will be in such despair at his firing that he will "jump" off a 20 story building in Moscow.
