Why isn't Alec Baldwin in prison already ? ...

    It seems like an open and shut case. Let's see;
He took the revolver and without checking to see if it was loaded,
pointed it at the victim, which was not in the script, and fired,
killing her. Why did he do that ? Granted, the guy is a moron,
but no one with an ounce of common sense does that.
He then lies about not pulling the trigger, which has to be done
in order for the gun to fire. In my book, it was a deliberate act
so why all the dithering ?

The last I heard he was going to be able to continue with the filming as if nothing had happened.

Why is he still free? Why is he not being ground up and spit out by the justice system? Why as why? There is in the US a two-tier system of justice. Those with the money, power, connections are not treated with the same degree of severity, etc. as are those who do not have money, power or connections. It is demonstrated all the way from how violations are handled when one breaks a traffic law to when one violates the law pertaining to murder, rape, robbery, etc. Sincerely. bruce.

Easier to issue $200 speeding tickets than to convict someone of murder, rape, robbery, etc. Jailed people cost the cities, and states money as well. I don't blame the cops--they want these people off the streets as much as we do. I blame the judges.

In all fairness it will be hard to convict Baldwin of murder. He has shown complete lack of responsibility, ignorance of firearms and respect for human lives. Unfortunately there's no laws against this.

Aiming a pistol at someone (point blank) with the trigger already pulled while cocking the hammer back not knowing for sure if the weapon is loaded or not should account for something but we'll see.

Baldwin is an anti-Trump liberal. A tool for the left wing. He will be fined a little to appease the victims family and ones of us watching but for the most part, he will walk away as if nothing has happened.

Those who pay to see his movies as well as other known liberals like Robert De Niro, Meryl Streep, Tom Hanks and many others are contributing to and supporting all their political beliefs including gun control.

Two years before this incident occurred Baldwin posted the following on Twitter: "i wonder what it would feel like to accidentally kill someone."

Now he knows but no doubt doesn't have any problems sleeping at night.

Anyone pointing a cocked gun at someone NOT knowing what it is loaded with has little concern over human life (other than his own of course).

I felt from the beginning that he shot her deliberately. Maybe there
was something going on between him and his female victim.
I guess we'll never know as the authorities don't seem anxious to
find out why he shot her. Assuming it was an accident could be
missing the point and letting him off the hook.

An accident that could/should have never happened.

He did NOT shoot her deliberately -- if he had TRIED, he'd have missed by 50 feet!!

He put his finger in the trigger guard (which is a big no-no) and with his finger resting on the trigger there was enough pressure to move the trigger back and the sear out of engagement with the tumbler. When he drew the hammer back, he did not hear the "click-click-click" and was too stupid to understand what that meant. When he released the hammer, it went forward and fired the gun.

That's called "slip firing." It's a technique gunfighters like Jesse James liked -- Jesse had at least one revolver with no trigger and sear so he could more easily slip fire it. One of Harold Croft's revolvers -- the ones Elmer Keith used to hit a 4'X4' target at 700 yards included one rigged for slip firing.

Alec Baldwin should be vigorously prosecuted for negligent homicide, and sued for every penny he has.

Because he's basically stupid and too arrogant to learn.

What I refer to as irresponsible. If he is let loose it may open the doors for a lot of "oops". "Sorry, I didn't mean to kill you".

The bottom line is one person is dead due to no fault of her own. To top that, she didn't die immediately. From what I read she suffered quite a bit.
