NATO never actually said NO to Ukraine joining, thus leaving
the situation hanging. Then our super intelligent VP Harris
went to Ukraine and announced to the World that we would
    welcome Ukraine joining NATO.
That was probably the last nail in the coffin.

And once this war is over, the Ukraine will join NATO -- how can they not?

Fewer today than yesterday, they say. And fewer tomorrow than today. Ukraine is a no-brainer.

Unlike Afghanistan the place can more than pay for itself. Which makes investing there a good bet assuming war ends the right way.

Unless, of course, the Bidens have a monopoly on the trade.

When the war ends Ukraine will still be a dictatorship.
And Russia is not going to give up the Crimea without a struggle.
Sevastapol is where she keeps her Black Sea Fleet.

Dicktatorship, dicktatorship, what is dicktarorship(Star Treck classic)? It's been around for a while. Someone has to run the place. It's the lack of kick-assedness, that allows the bullys to romp on everyone. It's easy to kick their asses, it just takes a little training. From an old guy who boxed and trained and stood his ground when push came to shove. I didn't always stand my ground and I am regretful of that.
Russia is a classic. A throwback. Do I hate Russia? Nope. I hope they can devote a lot of time and moula to Ukraine when this is over. That would show some style. Not everything goes the way I think it should.

I note that in today's news, Canada is going to send 200 armored personnel carriers to Ukraine. Not quite as impressive as it sounds though. Canada has long produced a line of very high quality APCs but these appear to be APCs that are really designed for police and security and transportation of up to 12 people rather than for full out combat. I suspect that part of the reason is that these can be fabricated far more quickly than the ones used by the Canadian Armed Forces. See https://roshel.ca/products/law-enforcement/senator-apc/

Seems to me they could help themselves a little more in a case like this. They could weld a few extra steel plates protecting the wheels and personnel as well as outfitting it with a couple of guns. They don't have to have everyone's latest and greatest. Anything at all given to them is more than they have.

Everything sent to them by anyone should have Chinese markings on them. Let's get Russia mad and cause them to start fighting the Chinese, Iran and NK.

We can't supply the Ukraine forever.

We don't have to supply them forever -- just until they kick Russia's butt and recover.

Russia has been a thorn in the side of the Free World since 1917. This is a CHEAP way to solve the problem.

Russian government sucked long before 1917 but minor quibble. The above point is 100% correct. Any Russians willing to die in Ukraine should get their wish.

CHEAP WAY?? You must be kidding? Biden has sent billions to Ukraine in less than 2 years! Our defensive armaments are being depleted! Why aren't ALL NATO countries supplying equally instead of 'just a little here and there'? If the world wants Russia out of Ukraine, then lets all get together and PUSH them out. Air power, sea power, land power! Biden wants his war? Lets give it to him and be finished!

We lost 58,000 American lives in Viet Nam. How many are you willing to sacrifice fighting the Russians?

The money is nothing -- it's the cost in American lives that counts. And right now, the count is zero.

In WWII the Soviets would dig anti-tank positions that fired backwards. Let the Germans get past them then hit them in their most vulnerable spot.
I saw an article in The Wall Street Journal which said there was a lot of clearing out of the cupboards for Desert Storm.
