Would you prefer to be stabbed rather than shot ? ...

Well, neither obviously, but Brits no longer have the choice
having had their guns confiscated in order to abolish a government
    dreamed up crisis.
Personally, the thought of being bayoneted I find rather unpleasant.
Actually, It wouldn't be too pleasant being shot come to think of it.

If I had to chose one it would be the gunshot.

On one occasion I have had someone shoot at me. He missed. Have on several occasions had someone pull a knife on me. None of them knew what they were doing so, I didn't have to go to the emergency room. Looking back on that stuff ... I'd opt for getting stuck. Most folks have no idea what they are doing regardless of whether they are using a gun or a knife. Almost anyone can pull a trigger. Once the gun is fired, another the bullet will do its thing. Even a little bitty .22 LR can put your lights out. Most DOA or even DRT are hit by .22 LR or some other small caliber. Knives are different. Most folks don't carry a real fighting knife. They have to really work to stick it deep enough. Even a little man is going to do something to cover his chest, neck, etc. Granted a skilled attacker is going to mess you up. But, just how many people are so skilled? Most are about as competent w/ a knife as they are a gun. Gun just makes it easier. Knife ... not so easy. So, I'll take my chances with the knife. JMHO. YMMV. Sincerely. bruce.

I think I would take either of them over drowning or burning to death but that wasn't among the options.

From what I've read, most knife attacks come from behind leaving no chance for defence.

Guess that would be a bummer if attacked from behind. I was thinking of incidents I saw or experienced. Sincerely. bruce.

If you are talking amateurs, you may be lucky or unlucky. But for a serious criminal, the guy who prefers a knife is someone who enjoys inflicting pain in measured, calculated amounts. That guy in Idaho. Cops aren't talking about what he did to the male. He killed the girls, but it seems he took his time with the guy.

I hadn't heard that although I don't follow this stuff too closely, probably
because there's so much of it these days.
What you hint at sounds as though it could be particularly gruesome.

In fact, he can keep taking them until the slide locks back.

Switch to a gun that shoots a more powerful cartridge. Should go down after the first shot.

If you need further help contact Alec Baldwin.

"Should" is one thing, "actually does" is another. Ammo is cheap -- no reason to skimp as long as your opponent is still standing.

I keep telling you guys, Alec did NOT mean to kill her. If he was TRYING to hit her, he'd have missed by at least 50 yards,

I'd opt for a fully automatic bayonet.
Staring at a bayonet is more frightening than looking at a small hole.

I take it you've never been shot.
