"Life's a bitch and then you die"

You can't face life stuffing yourself with drugs in the hope that the
barrage of unpleasant crap that has a habit of descending on us at
the worst possible times will magically cease You have to get on with it.
If you're suffering from anxiety and depression living here in America,
then how do you think the Ukrainian people feel being bombed every
five minutes. You think they're all taking Adderall ? I very much doubt it.
This modern reliance on drugs to see us through the day has reached
huge proportions and is turning millions into Zombies who find themselves
unable to function without a prop in the form of a pill.
Those with an actual medical condition is not who I'm referring to,
it's those with mental, real or imagined problems. The drug companies
love this epidemic and their advertising lures many into believing they
have an ailment they didn't have before they saw the sixty second
commercial. I know how that works as I was in the Ad business for 45 years.
It's not just Adderall, it's the plethora of other drugs they foist on us that
they tell us will bring relief from life's slings and arrows.

Lots and lots of folks are greatly helped by the drugs that are currently available to help with the outrageous slings and arrows of life, whether in the wonder years of childhood/youth when everyone wonders what we shall be when we grow up or the wonder years of adulthood and retirement ... when we wonder what in the world happened. Sincerely. bruce.

Prescription pain relief is not available to senior people because of the actions of a 'few'! Many cannot even walk and do everyday activities! Doctors tell them to take Tylenol/Advil, which is NOT a pain relief 'pill'!

We have been sold on the idea that there is a magic pill for every problem. "Chases the blues away" ! All these wonder potions that will let Mr. Hyde turn into Dr. Jekyll.

Happy pills. I played with a number of fun drugs when I was younger. Once. OK, that was interesting. But instinctively I knew it was "drugs". I just never got on board with that stuff. I've smoked a couple hundred cigarettes but I'm not a smoker. Lucky me. Now everyone is raised on mind altering drugs. Of course, if I had an autistic kid I'd be loading them with something for sure to save my own sanity. Some kids are not just annoying but downright dangerous, I've seen them. And as they get older, if one makes you feel good, ten is even better so you get "accidental" overdoses which I think is a form of Darwins rule. But not always. Some people who make that mistake are nice folks we'd like to keep around.
It's a crazy world. Arizona just intercepted one million fentanyl pills last week from you-know-where. Now there a version that's described as fentanyl on steroids. Great. I don't think the t.v. ads are helping to keep kids away from drugs when they are exposed to them everyday. It just says, take a pill, it's wonderful. Pretty basic.
If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.

There is a stock plot in detective TV shows -- you see it every now and then -- that someone is selling "bad" drugs that are killing addicts and the police have to get them off the street. It always leaves me asking "Why?"

Me too. Now there's Narcan. You get to almost die but not quite.
