I used to wonder about nuclear war with Russia when I was a kid. What would be the point? You level a country and do what with it? Now it's Ukraine. How do you destroy a country (the part that seems to like you) and hope to wins their hearts? I guess people have short memories. Five minutes after WWII we were all friends again. Mostly.
If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.

Go easy with the "war mongers" language. Leave that to Jane Fonda.

Not clear to me why some of you are bad-mouthing Zelensky. He is the leader of a country that is trying to repel an invading Russian army and has had 100,000 troops killed or wounded doing so. Was not that the original purpose of NATO? To be in place to repel Russian aggression? Well, the Russian aggression is here and if the West abandons Ukraine you can be pretty sure that the Baltic countries will be next - and they are members of NATO. Is is not better to support Ukraine with equipment than to end up having NATO to fight Russia in a few years?

Certainly the best outcome would be for Putin to die of cancer or have a heart attack or something but we can't depend on that. Second best thing is to support Ukraine

It has, unfortunately, become common in our society to mistake gentlemanly dissention for personal animosity. "Everyone who doesn't agree with me is evil."

Major Tom.. I just reread your earlier post below and missed it but it sounds like what Putin or one of his followers would say!

Here it is your post again!

"So, I guess the war mongers here prefer WWlll? You really think America can win against Russia and China? Both Hitler and Napolean thought they could easily defeat Russia. Now doesn't that sound like Putin or one of his followers or maybe a Russia poster here would say! Lol.

I have read numerous news stories pointing out that both sides are cleaning out the cupboards, getting old equipment out of mothballs and back in service, since the demise of the USSR all the European countries have repeatedly cut back on defense spending, neither their nor our defense industries have any "jump capacity", far from leading to WWIII I see this conflict fizzling out, something like the Korean War, a cease fire, an armistice, new boundaries, etc....

Hope you're right but with all the destruction and killing I don't see the Russians simply being able to walk away with a cease fire. The Ukrainians know that if some form of "completion" isn't done the Russians will return some day and always be a threat. As long as the Ukraine has some backing they will continue to fight and I don't blame them for that.
