Someone in The Canadian Security Intelligence Service, our counter-intelligence agency leaked a report that the Chinese Government has been interfering in Canadian elections to support the Liberal Government of Justin Trudeau; to elect Liberal members of Parliament and oppose Conservative candidates, particularly those who are concerned about China.
There are a lot of Canadian voters of Chinese origin and its been known for some time that Beijing has been using Chinese Language media to support certain candidate but it now appears that the Chinese Government has been secretly funding them and have possibly funneled a lot of money to the Liberal Party. We have very strict laws about making political donations; for example corporations and labour unions are forbidden to make donations and individuals are limited in how much they can donate. Funding from another government are basically inconceivable.
What makes it worse is that trudeau has been refusing to allow a serious inquiry into the issue and has actually accused anyone who wants such an enquiry of being an anti-Asian racist.
