What I read of the original meaning of the 2nd is the people have a right in America to protest a corrupt government and could have staged this protest armed.

Jan 6th was a protest, not a riot as the media claims. No one was injured except for the murder of one unarmed protester. What little property was damaged belonged to the protesters (tax payers). Compare that to the murders and assaults by the BLM mob that also destroyed other peoples income and property, most of whom were never charged and all is quiet in the news.

January 6th was an opportunity for the Democrats to blame Republicans for doing what the Democrats have been doing for years.
