I just read where an ex-NY state senator has a $206K student loan. She also has bought a $1M home. She complained about the supreme court's decision about the loans. I guess she was counting on the loan forgiveness to help pay her mortgage.

These are the categories that the Supremes's shot down. It's so overwhelming I don't know which one to jump for joy for. In CA there is a limit around $900 you can steal. More than that and you are going "professional". Or just being selfish.

In 1980 it was the Democratic Congress that passed and the Democratic President who signed legislation that made student loans non-dischargeable in bankruptcy.
