    Trey Gowdy nails it!

    MILITARY SERVICE REQUIREMENT

Trey Gowdy, a former South Carolina Congressman, responded to a question from a CNN reporter about the ban of transgenders from joining the U.S. armed forces. As Trey typically does so very well, he nailed it rather succinctly.

Question: How can President Trump claim to represent all U.S citizens, regardless of sexual orientation, when he banned transgenders from joining the military? Isn't that discrimination?

Trey Gowdy's Response: Nobody has a right to serve in the Military. Nobody! What makes you people think the Military is an equal opportunity employer? It is very far from it - and for good reasons - let me cite a few" The Military uses prejudice regularly and consistently to deny citizens from joining for being too old or too young, too fat or too skinny, too tall or too short. Citizens are denied for having flat feet, or for missing or additional fingers." he went on to explain: "By the way, poor eyesight will disqualify you, as well as bad teeth. Malnourished? Drug addiction? Bad back? Criminal history? Low IQ? Anxiety? Phobias? Hearing damage? Six arms? Hear voices in your head? Self-identification as a Unicorn? Need a special access ramp for your wheelchair?" "Can't run the required course in the required time? Can't do the required number of push-ups? Not really a morning person? and refuse to get out of bed before noon? All can be legitimate reasons for denial"
"The Military has one job: Winning War. Anything else is a distraction and a liability. Did someone just scream? That isn't Fair? War is VERY unfair, there are no exceptions made for being special or challenged or socially wonderful." "YOU must change yourself to meet Military standards and not the other way around." "I say again: You don't change the Military - you must change yourself. The Military is not about being fair, it is about taking advantage of others and about winning. The Military doesn't need to accommodate anyone with special issues. The Military needs to Win Wars and keep our Country safe -PERIOD!"

"If any of your personal issues are a liability that detracts from readiness or lethality... Thank you for applying and good luck in future endeavors." "Any other questions??

Women in the military? OK, but not a good idea. Even if they are capable they are a distraction.

    Women flying military planes? OK

Women in combat where special needs are required? NO

Women serving on ships where special needs are required? NO

Military paying for child birth? NO. Pregnancy is not an illness.

Back in the 1990s Bob Dole said "There are lot of reasons why you can't serve in the military. Too young, too old, too tall, too short, physical disabilities ...."

Sorry but I disagree! Look up Kara Hultgreens crash. She died because she did not use SOP in an emergency. USN pilots are the most aggressive and trained people that understand the basics of flying airplanes onto carriers. The USAF, USMC, PLO, or the Russian Air Force can not compete with them. Unfortunately, Kara was promoted and became one of the first female fighter pilots to operate off USN carriers. Her lack of understanding of the important NATOPS instructions of how to handle losing an engine on a carrier landing approach killed herself and almost killed her RIO.

Only the top of the top got to be Tomcat pilots but she was actually promoted over males and received special treatment in order to make female fighter pilots. She might have done better if she had been trained to be a heavyweight boxer

Women flying planes? OK. Not a great idea but they are already there.

Like most military needs women are limited.

During WW2 women built the guns, tanks, planes, c-rations, parachutes, uniforms, etc... They were not in combat. The same should apply now.

In one of my past jobs I worked for an aircraft piston engine manf. The women engineers they had were more knowledgeable than most of the men.

Women don't have the strength of men. Their knowledge (like men) differs with the individual.

My reply was in regards of Gowdy's statement.

The military has ALREADY accommodated people (women, queers, trans, old, weak, people with disabilities) with special needs.

It needs to return to where it used to be. If SHTF right now how equipped would we be to fight against a well trained/well disciplined military?

There's plenty for the women (and others) to do in service life w/o being in harms way or contributing to harms way.

Kara Hultgreen is an excellent example of affirmative action in the military. The Navy and AF were in a race to get the first female fighter pilots in service, word came down from On High that these women ARE going to pass. In flight school and her unit she was written up repeatedly for poor flying performance.
Haven't seen any clamoring by women for all-female combat units.
In the armies of the Greek city-states the only homosexual unit was the Sacred Band of Thebes, and they were the shock troops, put in the front line.
Note how the records of women "earning" their Ranger Tab have mysteriously disappeared.

This article below isn't about affirmative action but about women's special needs in the military.

This is from the Ukraine. Think how much worse it is here.

Zemliachky ArchivesKYIV—Vladimir Putin’s war has been grueling for hundreds of thousands of soldiers fighting against Russian troops on the front lines—but the invasion has been particularly brutal on...

Welll, DUHHH!!!. In WWII when the women's services were established they went to the Fifth Avenue fashion houses to design their uniforms so they looked sharp and fitted properly.
The Navy has repeatedly found it takes 4 women to handle firefighting equipment that 3 men are expected to handle and 2 can handle in a pinch.
When the service acdemies went coed women cadets were put on a rigorous PT program. They improved only 1/3 as much as the men.
