The plunge into lawlessness with higher crime can be attributed to liberal policies and inept governments!

It doesn't take a mental giant to know that less police means more crime and especially in the cities having large minority populations such as Chicago! How don't call me racist but just look at the population stats of race vs crime!

Not only have they become lawless, it is deemed as a crime if one of them are arrested.

Their former mayor, the "lovely" Lori Lightfoot actually encouraged riots and crime.

Given Chicago's-and Illinois'-longtime cultures of corruption and venality, you wonder if the police aren't part of the problem? Biggest change is that the gangs have moved out of the ghettoes and are attacking the previously off-limits "Miracle Mile." Chicago-and Illinois'-refusal to recognize the 2A and the RKBA has left citizens defenseless. And 50+ years of the "Great Society" has resulted in a high rate of illegitimacy and given us what George F. Will called " a continually renewed cohort of unruly adolescent males."

Back in the 60's, I spent a lot of time in Chicago. My Uncle was a preacher on So. Seeley St. off 35 St. and Archer Ave. and my cousin had a new Pontiac convertible. We rode all over Chicago, even at night except for the Chinese section. Went back once about 4 years ago and the neighborhood was trashed and went to visit Navy pier but the cops had it barricaded off because of an active shooter. Never again!!

Defund the police movement? Whose idea was that? Some ten year olds? Or people even dumber. One of the most crime ridden cities in the U.S. and maybe the world decided we need LESS POLICE. Ok...what the heck, maybe only thirty more people get murdered and we save all that money on cops. Percentage wise it worked...sort of. We can make it up in volume. Let's see: what miracle would it take for all those ten year olds to magically start behaving themselves? That would be something to see.

Good post dh, how ever I'm afraid there is no miracle that would make those 10 year old's start to behave except a two parent family which seems to be missing in a lot of families .
