Why are we paying the illegals anything?

Biden gives them anything they want and more!
Did your ancestors who immigrated to the U.S. get any government aid? My maternal grandparents came from Germany in the late 1890's and my paternal grandparents came from Sweden at about the same time period. Neither received any aid what so ever. One was a cabinet maker who raised 3 daughters and the other worked for the railroad and raised 6 kids.
So why must we pay these illegals anything?

I heard a really good analysis of how the Socialist/Communist left operates through the Democrat Party, and I think we forget this sometimes. They mean what they say to their core supporters. If they say they believe in open borders they will act accordingly. If they say they believe in the welfare state they will act accordingly. Now they may lie publicly, sometimes outrageously to get elected but when they get in they will operate on their true agenda without apology. This goes for open borders, unwillingness to prosecute violent thugs, "queer theory," and every other wacko plan they have.

Republicans on the other hand will tell their core supporters they are down with their beliefs on family, faith, equality, hard work and strict law enforcement and a whole bunch of other stuff, but unlike the left, when the time comes to stand and deliver they fold. One of the reasons Donald Trump got elected in 2016 and will almost surely be the "R" nominee this time is he pretty much does what he says. Its why he's so despised by mainstream politicians of both parties.

Texas is a very "red" state but the Republican majority in the house and the senate allows Democrats to hold some committee chairmanships...I kid you not. Example - John Whitmire, state senator from District 15, a Democrat, chairs the Senate Committee on Criminal Justice, that is just insanity but the Republicans do this sort of thing to themselves all the time. If the Dems ever take over I promise they will not reciprocate.

So why do the republicans cave in, to much money under the table or what, like you said they tell us what they want us to hear but then don't have the guts to stand on their own two feet.

There are a few bright spots, especially at the state level, like Kristie Noem in South Dakota and Ron De Santis in Florida who do, pretty much, put their money where their mouth is and take a lot of heat for it. But for every one of them there are two "go along to get along" Mitt Romneys, John Cornyns, or Lindsey Grahams. Almost as bad are people like my fearless governor Gregg Abbott or Gov. Grab-it as he is not affectionately known in Texas for his fundraising ability, whose finger is in the air on too many issues. The Texas Republican Legislative Caucus has way to many of these people.

The best I can say about people like Cornyn, Romney, Graham and Abbott is they're better than the alternative, but, in some cases, just barely.

Watching the Republicabn debate I figured there are at least 4 of the 8 participants in the "squishy" group.
