There is one important thing to remember. For a politician who can get funding running for office is almost as good as being in office, economically speaking. Nikki Haley dropped out when her money ran out. I knew this was on the wall when the Koch brothers announced that they were diverting the money going to Haley to fund Republican Senate and House candidates. Every single one of the "Rs" in the primaries would be in right now if they were still being funded, chance to win or not.

A candidate only conceeds there is no path to victory when the money runs out.
