I would say most of those visiting this site as gun owners have either taken a life in combat or the life of an animal while hunting. Many of us have a concealed carry permit and that usually means we are prepared to defend the life of those we love. However, did you know that an unborn baby at 15 weeks can see, hear and feel pain? Thought it might be something for us to ponder.
Taking a life, ponder this....

Deep subject.
My thoughts are: women can be victims. Women can make mistakes (we all do). Women deserve their "rights to their bodies".
I don't know how long it takes for conception to occur but acting ASAP to stop a birth would be in order. The "morning after" pill has been out for ages and should be made readily available to any female who needs them. They shouldn't have to go to a doctor and have them prescribed. Perhaps they should have them on hand in the medicine cabinet in advance? What little I know about the pills is they must be somewhat rough on the system and not be used for everyday birth control. All those protesting pro-abortion women could do this and still have all their rights.
If a woman took the MA pill immediately after the event they would never know if they were pregnant or not. Again, I don't know if this stops things before conception or immediately afterwards but it would be the quickest end.
I can understand women not wanting the gov't, especially "our" gov't telling them what they can do with their own bodies but at some point early on women need to take the responsibility that they are carrying life and abortion (at some point) is murder.
Personally I'm against abortion but unwanted pregnancy's will always happen. People need to be more responsible. Men need to be held accountable and it not be just the ladies problem. Women who are victims deserve immediate care w/o cost/shame/or public knowledge.
Pregnancy is so much easier to prevent now than in earlier times that it shouldn't be such a common issue. The MA pill is a simple solution for those that go too far. Abortion should be ruled murder sometime very early in life. Rare exceptions would be where a woman's life is in danger or the baby is going to be grossly disfigured or stillborn or such.
My 2 cents. -
Pro-abortion politician Mario Cuomo said legalizing the death penalty would "brutalize" us.
No "Right to Choose" for men. No "Right to Choose" for the rest of us who get stuck with the bill for welfare, schools, etc.
Yes it is the women's problem. Their choice, their responsibility.
Some asked me why, as an Army veteran, a conservative, why I am in favor of putting women into combat. I tell them, look at how many millions of human lives they have snuffed out, they have proven themselves much more cold blooded killers than men.Last edited by blackhawknj; 06-24-2024, 10:56.Comment

Might as well add my 2 cents in on this. The argument is control over their own bodies. I can understand that when it comes to having a tooth removed. An appendix operation. A leg or arm needs to be removed due to major infection and they decided to do it. She has control as to have the surgery or take a chance with the infection. However when it comes to a fetus, it is "in their body," not part of her body. The child is connected to her via the umbilical cord. The child is a separate entity within her. Having control of her body should have been thought of before conception, doing something to avoid it. The responsibility falls upon both parties if a child is conceived. Those that decide to have an abortion, will have to live with that decision. That is about as simple as I make my view point.
A drill Sargent once said something like the following. Remember 30 minutes of excitement can lead to 18 years of support payments. A word to the wise is sufficient.Last edited by JohnMOhio; 06-25-2024, 10:15.Peace is that brief glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.
