From a Canadian perspective, the problem is that a lot of your illegal immigrants are going to try to move to Canada. The last time this happened, we got thousands of Haitians crossing the border and claiming refugee status. Our idiot of a Prime Minister did nothing to stem the flow. This time, there are indications that the Government is going to try to stop the movement before it gets out of control. We already have a major housing crisis because the Liberals have let in far too many people in the last few years and there is no infrastructure to take care of them. Like in the USA, this is now a serious political issue and is one of the main reasons why the Liberal government would be wiped out if and when an election is called (and that can't come too soon)

The way to stop them is to end welfare. No more gov't handouts to non-citizens, no jobs, no DL's, and prison and deportation fines and fees should be paid by THEM. Those here now would have to work it off---word would get back to the others planning to come here.

We have channels for legal immigrants.

They should be treated like the criminals they are instead of having the red carpet rolled out for them.

ONE is illegal. ONE is too many.

The crossings go both ways too. I read decades ago that the majority of Chinese invaders were coming via Canada to the U.S.

It would be nice, with Trump back in office, if the 2 countries could work together to put a stop to it and give Mexico the ultimatum.
