    Soylent Green

Been watching what has been going on in Ill. and some parts remind me of the opening of the movie. What escapes my train of thought as to why water cannon trucks have not been utilized. With this simple thing the streets would be "cleaned" in more than one way. No air pollution or LEO running the risk of getting injured and or harmed in many ways. The colder the weather, the more affective the water.

have never seen that movie, but know the premise,

good idea on the water trucks,
while the city water, if filled from a hydrant, will have some traces of chlorine in it, maybe add a few gallons per truck to help disinfect too?

I bought up the subject of using water cannons years ago here. The troll's went wild and took it as a personal insult to them (which it was). Truth is a lot of riot's could/should be tamed and normally would be except a lot of violence here is supported by the political party that wants to make issues, smokescreens, and chaos to further their agendas.

Hopefully "we" won't get any trolls back as it is nice here now. I would like to see some discussion on cooking/recipes.

Us old farts like to eat so cooking and recipes are always welcome. They will be more useful though if or when our attendance here builds up more. Right now it wouldn't be read by many. If such a topic becomes popular perhaps we could have a "Martha Stewart" type forum to keep them separate from the generalized gun forum.

Foods and edible stuff are brought up occasionally as it is.

Its been a long time since I've seen the movie but as I recall, the last line goes something like "Solyent Green is people" i.e. the dead are being processed into food for humans.

I suppose that does link into the comments on cooking although I would prefer recipes that don't involve cannibalism. (As a useless piece of trivia, the term "Long Pig" means human flesh for consumption)
