I well remember the Marine Corps Birthday Ball at the Camp Hansen O Club in 1975. They brought in a bus load of tittering, fan-fanning Okinawan ladies in traditional full Japanese costume. Before the evening was done they were boogalooing in spite of their long, dignified outfits. And actually, other than standing for the Marines' Hymn, I can't remember much else come to think of it, so it must have been a good one.Comment
