Rem. Model 40X .22 Std Barrel Value

What is the present range of price value for a Remington Model 40X, .22 caliber standard barrel, CMP rifle in excellent condition? It has both front and rear sights as supplied with it.

I do not go to auction sites but attend many gun shows. Its been years since I have seen one for sale. Many say these were better rifles then Win. 52's. So my guess would be they are worth that or more then a equivalent 52, year, barrel, etc. Go to Rim Fire Central and Remington board. You should get something more definite there!

I sold a CMP medium (722 action) and a heavy 40X (700 action), without sights, two years ago for $900 each. A member on a different site was looking for the 40Xs for a manufacturing project. I don't know how far he got with the 22s but he does have nice M40 stocks.

Depending on the sights, 40x's without the B suffix run $1000- $1200. The B suffix 700 action run a little more. 40x 722 action USMC marked are even higher value due to production numbers
