S&W grips with six extra cartridges

I can remember the armored car guards picking-up money with their S&W M&P revolvers with
these grips that held six extra rounds. Still being used in the 1960's and into the 70's.

What is shown on the right grip, upper surface.

there is a Pat number on the trapdoor, withh Gary, Ind.

Maybe a logo ti the manufacturer??

The logo on the right grip is DUEL DUTY and the patent number is 2509553.
