They were made during WW2 and had light gray parkerized finish oil finished walnut stock s/n in to the 5 digits
No US markings just marked model 65.

Thanks guy iwentout and read. Got a a letter from President HRA about "the General" letter pretty much tells it all I have a little shop near camp perry and I keep combining up with the unusual. 58C is the only "marked specimen" . Mine is marked USMC. Trigger guard is similar to Garand. Other models will usually have a DCM mark in stock . There are several civilian
Rifles that will have a DCM stamp in the wood . Interesting rifles.Comment

POST WAR commercial models were blued. WW2 commercial models were lt. gray parked like thier military cousins.
