Looks like a WW2 rebuild from the barrel date.

Brophy says 11,171 M2 rifles were built through 1942. I have in my collection M2 #6478 with a 10-38 barrel and #10514 with a 6-37 barrel. #6478 is a NRA Sales M2 and I am confident the barrel is original. #10514 was once in the collection of the late Fred Ewalt. Fred considered it all original in finish and parts. I have not found any correlation of barrel dates with dates of manufacture for the M2 Rifles. I think the barrel is likely original to the receiver. The finish looks like the pre-WWII Springfield Armory black parkerizing. A couple of questions: Is the bolt etched with the rifle serial number? Is the bolt well (round channel the bolt moves in) parkerized like the exterior of the receiver or is it in the white?
The unmarked M2 stock would be correct. The Lyman 48 appears to be a 48S with the hinged peep in the front of the threaded aperture hole. The windage knob is later than the knob normally seen on the 48C on the M2's.

I just noticed the notch for a turned down bolt handle. The bolt handle on the rifle does not appear to be bent so I suspect the stock was salvaged from another rifle. The notch would be aftermarket work.

New to me M1922M2

The bolt is stenciled with the serial number. The barrel channel appears "black". Thank you Sir, for your help.

My M2 is serial number 10105 and it has a 1-42 barrel date. Looks pretty much like yours.
