    Stock Wood Source

Is there any source for or does any one out there have an original fore end for a Winder Musket? If not original, is any one making repro stock sets for the Winder? I will soon be trying to clean up and restore a Winder and the fore end has been cut off just ahead of the band.

Lots of Winder Muskets have been converted into sporters over the years, which means the intact, original stocks are still floating around somewhere. Before spending time and money repairing your cut-down stock or buying a repro, you might try posting a WTB ad on different forums like the ASSRA, Gunboards, The High Road, etc. to see if you can find an original take-off stock.
