    New Winchester 52D

Last month I glommed several .22 target rifles at various on-line auctions, including this Winchester 52D.

It finally arrived at my FFL and I got to take a look at it. The metal and bluing is almost pristine and the stock, while having a few dents and bruises, is also in great shape.

It has "US" electro-penciled above the serial number on the left side of the receiver, which matches recent sales of these rifle from the CMP. I may contact the CMP and request a record search to confirm this.

Last month I also glommed a Winchester 52B and a Remington 513T with a Fecker scope on it.

There but for an instant after reading your title, I imagined Winchester was back in the 22 target rifle game... then I snapped back to reality. Nice score!!

Winchester and Colt's have quit making more good firearms than others have ever conceived.

You need to go to Vegas and put it all on Lucky 13.

Sorry. Guess I should have titled it "New to ME".

Thanks, shooter. I'll post better pics and hopefully a range report soon. Have to wait for the 10 day "cooling off" period to expire.

I believe you will consider yourself very fortunate to have owned one in your life time. They are a magnificent firearm.

Don't mind the 10 day wait...it is all the other BS that gets to me.

Try using Wolf ammo in it I hear that shoots really well through the Winchesters. I shot a 1 hole group of 5 with my H&R M12 with it. ENJOY!

Man, I've been trying to find Wolf target ammo for nearly a year. I heard it was good stuff.

"Wolf Match Target", based on a dollar for dollar basis is about as good as it gets for better than 90 percent of all SB shooters. I have been using it for some years (with iron sights) and I cannot hold as hard as the ammo will group. Once in a while I get a one hole round group that I believe would have been tighter with a harder hold or by using the correct scope. By the way, I think that there is no really good reason to purchase "Wolf Match Target Extra" unless you can make good use of its' even smaller grouping ability. I use the WRA 52 B or C or D or my Kimber 82. George in NH

I've looked all over for Wolf target ammo. No luck.

Where are you in NH, George? Lived there for 10 years back in the 80's
