    Mossberg M44 US

I have a Mossberg M44US that is drilled and tapped for a side mount telescope. No mount, no screws and I’ve just begun to search.

That said, I know originally the M’berg mount was for a ?” or 1” scope. I’ve seen pictures of the mount but I don’t understand how the scope was mated to it. I have 3 questions:

    1. Does anyone have pictures that are worth a thousand words on how the mount and scope go together?

    2. Does anyone have a copy of the instructions?

    3. Does anyone have an alternative that uses the original drilled and tapped holes?

Thanks in advance for any help

    depends on the holes,

Mossberg did a side mount, bit bulky, but worked, but not sure if it was around when the 44 was done,
may have been discontinued by then

or it may be d&t'ed for a Weaver side mount,

gimme a minute and I will see what I can find pic wise

not what I was thinking, but an option

Check out HAVLIN MOSSBERG .22 RIMFIRE M22 SUPER SIDE SCOPE MOUNT with 26 reviews and an overall rating of 5.0, available Online at Brownells Today and many more Scope Bases products are available in our Optics Department.

googley not helping, may need to go find Stroebel's book

    another vintage one,

sold a couple of these a few years ago, not that great , even for the time, scope

      here is a weaver option,
the 4 holes go in the receiver

the mount sits at about 45 degrees, and there is a scope ring/base that attaches (1 inch)
they also made an OEG version, I have one on my old 550-1

I looked on Havlins site first and saw there $32 mount and that's what got me started. I don't think it's overbore but offset. I'd really prefer overbore.
