Just bought a new milled, micrometer rear sight from Springfield Sporters It has the letter "B" at the upper left hand corner,,,,Would that make it a Long Branch part?

A 'B' alone? No, not unless it's a superimposed LB. Give it another look.
Here... it would look the same as on this bayonet.
