    Spare parts for No.4 Mk1

I'm the owner of a '49 No.4 Mk 1 and am wondering if anyone recommends any spare parts to keep on hand (extractor, springs,etc..) for these rifles. Do certain parts tend to need to be replaced before others or have a higher failure rate compared to other parts of the rifle? Thanks.

Extractor spring has always been accepted to be the weakest link. Oddly a tired spring shows itself as weak ejection.
    A '49 Mk1, not a Mk2? Just asking....

Thanks for the info. Yeah the markings indicate it was built at Fazakerley and it doesn't have the Mk 2 upgrade markings stamped on it. It's etched as No 4 Mk 1 (F) 2/49.

February of 49 makes sense. Mk2 production began in the summer of 49 and into very early 56. Only a handful of UF 56 rifles reported and the fact they even exist is a mind blower.

Nice rifle. The only part that I had to replace on my No. 4 Mk1* was the extractor spring.

Thanks, I've only had it for about a year now. Good info to know.
