Is there a letter D alongside it ?
Or - could the P be an R ?Last edited by Alan De Enfield; 12-30-2013, 05:35. -

Thinking about it, there was a P used to denote "painted", where the metal under the woodwork was painted to protect it from corrosion and to save the armourer stripping the rifle every year to replace the mineral jelly.
Are there traces of either 'green' or 'desert' coloured paint on the barrel ?Comment
