.410 conversion questions

Is there a way to remove the plate and use an original magazine to load the .410 shells?

Years back some were converting to Saiga 410, AK type mags with mixed results. Some OK, some not so good. The SMLE mag doesn't readily lend itself to the process.

You would be lowering the value. In any case, if you have an original rifle, it will NOT accept a .410 round. They used un-necked .303 cartridges. Many dealers had the chambers reamed so shotgun cartridges could be used.
