Of course that's the wrong sling. The T's were fitted with the U.S. pattern M1907 leather sling.
The reciever had to be milled flat for the front scope mount to be fitted.Comment

John, it's long been said in British Service that the M1907 leather sling was too complicated for Tommy to use.
That was also true of the sling for the L42A1 which invariably stayed in the armoury with the CES chest and the Patt 37 was used instead!

british sniper.jpgNor do I, especially a sniper. The internet is a wonderful thing. I could find surprisingly few pictures of Brit snipers with the No 4 Mk 1(T) in action and both slings apparently were used but most I found seem to have been using the U.S. M1907 sling. The fellow in the above picture definitely is using an M1907 sling.
That plant definitely could use some water.Comment
