I have two M1903 Sniper clones with target scopes. The 1921 has a Hi-Lux 8X Unertl type target sight. The 1933 has a 10X Unertl. Both rifles have original "O" and "E" sight blocks.
With the scopes set for a 100 yard zero (the lowest position) the 1921 with the Hi-Lux 8X had to have an area scooped out on the bolt handle to clear the scope with an open bolt. The 1933 with the 10X Unertl needs no cut for clearance. I've seen pictures of USMC Sniper M1903s both with and without the bolt handle clearance cuts.
