Goo: Welcome back. Can not tell about the 700 Rem. , but all my .303 brits, an Fn-49 plus a few .22 do have a few feed problems. Mag lips get bent or the 22 will get gumed up. Still do not know how to feild strip the ruger 10/22 mag. Again good too see yer posting again, mike24d20 HAWK ( the killer of slow an fast movers ).

never had an issue with mine, i use Factory mags, and stay way from aftermarket ones.
a clean gun will always work well..
and dont store you mags with ammo loaded in them..
if it aint broke...fix it till it finally is.

goo, I've shot next to 'em, seemed to load OK. As you know, you can get the occasional feeding fubar loading from a stripper clip, too, whether it's a Rem 700/40X, Win 70, Mauser or Springfield action. The knock on the DM has been it's hard to get the bedding as effective as with a typical floorplate gun or blind magazine, if you're wanting to put 5 into/near the same hole.

Yep, Remington had a lot of problems with the DM M700 PSS, and it was eventually dropped from their lineup.

I've converted a few police dept. rifles back to non-detachable configuration due to reliability problems. Never heard much good about them.
