    My M1941 clone

Well, I started with a stripped receiver from gunbroker, got a bolt and some receiver parts from a friendly local gunsmith, bought a stock from CMP (Boyd's) and took a chance on a Sarco kit for the stock hardware. I sent the receiver and stock parts off to Chuck in Denver and he installed a used SA barrel (complete with sights), drilled and tapped it for some Steve Earle mounts, parked the whole thing and electro penciled the bolt for a bit of authenticity. I added in a Hi-Lux scope that Creedmoor tweaked and the result is below.

The Boyd's stock fit with no excessive trimming and the handguard is a new/old stock that I turned down on a drill press witha sanding wheel and handcut with a coping saw. Thanks
    Chuck, you do nice work!!
After all the work and acquision the final was $1826.00 Now to see how she shoots!!

Snell, looking good! I did mine last year, it's my favorite to shoot now. We have a bunch of Mid Range Prone matches here and it's what I use. Try some 168gr Matchkings and have fun.

          Great looking rifle, snell.

Had a chance to shoot it yet?

We had some windage issues, but Chuck (wonder that he is, squared them away) and just got the completed rifle to the range yesterday. We replaced the used SA barrel with a new Criterion (which took forever from CMP) and here are the results. Started at 100 yards to get on paper then moved to 300 to get ready for Perry. That first shot in the 9 ring give me the info I needed to send a three shot string down range. Thats a 1 1/2" group so I think I've got a winner!

1 1/2'' at 300? Great shooting! Definitely a winner there. Chuck does great work.

Question, what load are you shooting?

that is impetus for me to complete mine, mine is finished to the point that it is a complete 1935 1903 A1, I just received the scope bases and the new criterion barrel, I already had the scope (lucky, it was a gift from my grand dad years and years ago) i shot the rifle as it is and sad the barrel is gone, great as a collection piece but not as a shooter so ordered a criterion barrel and it came yesterday!!
You are to be complimented, great job, hope to see you on the line at either Eastern Games or Perry, i'm serious, you did a damn fine job!
                  regards

                    very nice rifle!

chuck assembled one for me as well. I had some time at the range to break her new barrel in. To get the scope zeroed I took her to 50 yards and using Greek ammo. She easily shot clover leafs at 50. Out at 100 yards I lost a little accuracy and I expect with reloads she will hold .5 MOA. Once I get her properly sorted out and range tested with reloads I'll be sure to post a full report.

enjoy your new plinker, chuck simply has a way with 1903's.
