    It obviously didn't come in the box. I found it with a fake "d" in it. That's the original documentation next to the tech manual. I also have all the original paper bags.

        Thank you...I came across some slightly smaller boxes originally for the .22 I'm going to use one for my M2 and I think another for my M44.

          That case appears to be for an British Enfield #IV MK1 sniper.

            It probably was, but they gave up their weapons so their loss is our gain :-) It fits the M1D like it was made for it.

              Transit Case

              That definitely looks like a transit case for an Enfield No 4 Sniper. It would be pretty desirable for someone who had one of those rifles and was missing the case. Here’s a few pictures of mine for comparison.

                The first time I saw this case a guy was walking around the show with a completely fake M1D inside. I offered him $300 just for the case. He turned me down. About two hours latter a dealer came over to me ask if I wanted the case for $50. It was one of those gun show moments that kept me coming back.
