    Nice rifle MJ1!

I can always appreciate the classic look of blued steel and wood.

I don't own one (a Swedish Mauser M41B if I'm not mistaking), but I have a 1943 Izhevsk Mosin Nagant with PU scope mounted on it (the scope is a reproduction that came with it when I bought it).

Tell us more about it, tell us more I ask you!
how does she shoot? do you have any trouble holding POI when you are shooting it?
I get about 2 MOA if I do my part, but she (my MN-PU) is VERY prone to temperature changes. when the barrel heats up, my zero goes everywhere!
Do you (or anyone else here for that matter) know how I can improve this? I've checked but the scope doesn't loosen, nor seems any other part except the handguard, but I put it back regularly and it's not significantly.

The 6.5 shoots by it self.

Your PU Mosin is doing just what you say. As it warms up the barrel will change and 2" is about right. Have you checked the stock bed? Also be sure to tighten the front or king screw first. Good news is that it will hold that 2" way out there.

I had mine out once, shooting a 10in gong at 600yds...couldnt miss...was pretty cool. I just wish it had a jewell like trigger...you need massive trigger control

I have tightened the screws, but since it is a mosin, it doesn't have a bedding of any kind at all, But I am probably going to bed it, that will probably make it a lot better.

A little care used on the barrel clearance at the sides can help and some have center supprted the barrel also. A small 1 1/4 X 3/8 strip of rubber that adds 3~4 lbs of up pressure 8" back from the front sight is sapposed to help too.

now if it were a Nazi ass, that would make it even more interesting to shoot at

I have seen your 96/38 and the trials T and I will have to get a 38 some day John. Every time I see you it costs me money when I get home.

Actually, MJ1 is right, getting proper forend bedding will help plenty w/ Moisins. Its surprising how much it helps if it wasn't bearing correctly.

And if it isn`enough make a bedding like this. Make space atthe grey coloured aereas and bed it there with some acrylic stuff. Works good.
