Thanks for the picture and info, I know pressure points and bedding have a great influence on the rifles performance.
I have A LOT of bookmarks on bedding, I especially like the tutorial from The Box O Truth, very clear and lots of pictures to actually see the process rather than just plain explaining.
    Here is the link: http://www.theboxotruth.com/docs/edu75.htm

    Kind Regards, Louis

I love the Swedes. My first milsurp was a 96 I picked up at an estate sale. I didn't even know what caliber it was, had to go to a sporting goods store to find out. I got my first shock(and this is 1978)ammo was $20 a box. I got some surplus stuff and took it oout for a try. It was like shooting a .22- yoou couldn't miss.
I just glass-bedded a 91/30 and boy, what an improvement. Still only grouping 3"(ten rounds in three inches-shouldn't complain) and I think I will try to put a little pressure on the barrel like the suggestion above. That long barrel seems to be asking for some sort of support.
Keeping with the thread- one day I would like to own a real Swede sniper.
If I should die before I wake...great,a little more sleep.

Remember the 91/30 is not a target rifle and only had to put the first round in a 10' circle at 200 yards max some place close to freezing cold. 18" at 300yards is still a bad guy in a padded coat. I have a friend who is a taget at 100 yard fiend and should never have seen ten shots fired at one time unless your supporting an attack from the wings. If you read the doctrine it was written around how the rifle could perform.

200 yards from the far left, center and far right of a ten position shooting range.

        Cheers
