    Canadian sniper real or fake

Hello, firstly greetings from australia. I am hoping you can help me. I have come across a Canadian longbranch sniper rifle. It is serial no 36L35xx and has some unique features. It has a griffin Howe mount with an Alaskan scope, Monte Carlo stock (checkered pistol grip) and the action has a magazine cutoff fitted. It has stamped into the stock near the heel, 28 over AFF. The butt, action, mount and bolt have the same number. It is being sold as a trials sniper.
Hope you can help and whether it is legitimate
    Thanks in advance

Well, with those features its probably a real trials rifle. Whats it marked as on the rifle? It's too small to read in the thumbnail.
Many of the Brit trials rifles (No1,Mk V, or Mk,VI)were eventually issued as a rifle, but I don't know if Canadian ones were.
"Snipering & re-issue as a sniper" I have no idea though.

      plonk,

      check your own site,,,

I was looking for some ideas on (T) scope mounts on the web, clicked on the images and on the thumbnail...

there are several threads on a similar rifle on gunboards and milsurps too,

I would bet the Monte Carlo stock is a commercial replacement,

        Yep.
The stock was throwing me off though.

This rifle is a total phantasy piece, it came up for auction several years ago with several other faked/phantasy rifles.
