    is this M1-D mount repro ?

    Just got this mount. Looks a bit different to me..it may be early or repro. Help me out -thanks

    I think it looks OK. One of the giveaways is usually the peened over screw that secures the large knob. If you have the opportunity tyr attaching it to a "D" before money changes hands. Make sure it snugs down securely.

      IIRC, that one is good. The 'starburst' peening and securing of the knob. Repro's are spot welded.

        For your information. In addition to the starburst the knob also had a roundhead knob on USGI mounts. Repros were always welded from those I have looked at, anyway I have never seen a USGI welded knob. The USGI hinge pin had a roundhead while the repro usually had a flush pin as shown.
