Boyt leather case for Sniper? rifle

    Gentleman:

My buddy just picked this up at a yard sale. It is made by Boyt and dated 1943. It also has the designation D06065. He thinks it is a sniper rifle case. I have no idea. Anybody know what this thing is? Thanks!

Yes BAR case and they are not cheap to buy if you want one 150-200 for a decent well worn one and near new go for 500+
That one looks like a 350-500 to the right person.

Thanks to everyone for helping me identify this piece of history. Does anyone know what its application was? General carrying, jeep carrier, glider carrier? It just looks to heavy and bulky to be a piece for carrying your BAR around in all day long.

It was part of the pack for a mule. No kidding.
Enfield, everything else is just a rifle. Unless it's a Garand.

Yes , for the M1918A1 , which has the bipod back on the gas tube. The A2 may be too wide at the front to fit in some of them . Would fit if the bipod was removed , if needed.
