Winchester A5 Serialled Carry Case Help:

Need help valueing a serialled Commercial carrying case for the Winchester A5 scope.. The identical case is photoed on pgs..11-12-13 of Senichs US Marine corps scout sniper WW2/Korean book. I think the case might be rarer than the scopes? Anyone ever seen one for sale? and if so..what pricing? please email: waynee@dcsi.net and or PM..thanks for help..Hemi

Bought mine with a (civilean) Win A5 scope for $600. Just recently a complete scope with scope case sold on eBay, would need to look it up but it exceeded $1500.

What is the serial number? If I can ID the sniper, the value jumps considerably.

I've looked that one up in my saved auctions, a complete scope with scope case where the sniper who used it was known (I assume with the help of Jim ) was sold on 09.06.2013 for $2.763,00.

I did indeed identify the sniper in question. I was happy to help the guy. I am equally willing to help anyone else who has a serialized scope case.

The case I have is the exact one referred to in Senichs book. The scope case is marked with the name "Damerow" and dated 1918..with rifle serial #673,181. Complete with scraps..and identical to the one in the photo.. Appreciate knowing its rarity and potential value...Please email (waynee@dcsi.net) if time permits...

Morning Jim: Appreciate you taking the time to " identify" my USMC Scout Sniper Case....Now if I could ever find a copy of a photo of Mr. Damerow...that would really add to its past history...Again, Thanks for all your help on my behalf...Best Hemi
