What is the going rate for a WWII Marine Unertl scope?

I'm starting the process of looking for a real Marine 7.8X Unertl scope. What can I expect to pay?

I saw one sell on ebay a while ago for $3500 I think. But I can't remember much details about it. I've seen one in the $4500 range for just the scope, no can. But I don't know if that is high or the right price. I sort of imagine that is a little high?

That's good news, by the way I also am a crazed USMC rifle collector lol I really like your last rifle that you posted very very nice. I've been watching the usmc unertl scopes and they have creeped up to that 5k mark. Wish I had bought one when they were expensive at 2k lol. Good luck and if you mount it please post photos

I think he has some personal things happening right now so it might just take some time for him to respond. But I will tell him if I catch up with him.

I have bought two USMC 8X scopes in the last year. One at Allentown PA show and one this last March at the MACA show in Baltimore MD. Both had the original cans with them. I paid $4500 for each. I have seen them for higher prices on GB and Ebay.
