    Original military cartridge specs

Does anyone know where I might find the data that would describe the bullet type/weight, case length and overall cartridge length specs of the original ammo used in the M1917, 03-A3, Enfield No. 4 Mk 1* and M1916 Spanish Mauser?

The M1917 used M1906 ammo with a 150 grain flat based, cupro-nickel, jacketed bullet at 2700 FPS.
The 03-A3 used either .30 M1 or M2 ammo. The .30 M1 had a 174.5 grain, BT, gilding metal, jacket at 2647 FPS. This is the ammo the M1 Rifle was designed to use and was tested with.
      .30 M2 ammo(that didn't exist until 1940) had a 152 grain, flat based, gilding metal, jacket at 2800 FPS.
The No. 4 Mk I* used Mk VIII Ball ammo with a smokeless powder load, boxer or Berdan primed, 175 grain, boat tailed bullet at 2440 FPS.
The M1916 Spanish Mauser used 7×57mm Mauser. Originally with a 172.8 grain round-nosed bullet at 2300 FPS.
All of this is(including case length and overall cartridge length specs) readily available through a normal net search via any search engine.

If you have or can get a copy of Brophy's "The Springfield M1903 Rifles" you will find detailed govt. specs for most of the U.S.G.I. .30-06 loads.

"...specs for most of the U.S.G.I. .30-06 loads..." Specs for all of 'em are in Hatcher's Book of the Garand. Page 125.
