    HXP prepped and ready.

A couple of trays of HXP 30-06 brass fresh out of the dryer after sizing, clipping primer stakes, trimming and wet tumbling with SS media. Hot and humid today so it looks like I will spend some time in the airconditioned shop priming and loading. Whatta hobby.

Priming up another batch of HXP. Working on a load that will perform well in the A4 and still run in the M1 with reduced charge and 110 gr varminter bullets.

Thanks. I am really enjoying the lighter recoil of these loads combined with decent accuracy. Got out this morning and shot this target cold clean bore with 03A4 repro. 10 rnds at 100 yds. Max spread 2". I am sure my trigger control accounted for the hits to the right. Still pleased considering the 2.5 pwr repro scope. I need to slow down shooting and use a bit more concentration.

Not around here. I don't think I have even seen any of that stuff in 50 years or so.

I understand it's easy to reload HXP. How do you remove the small primer stakes?

You are very very fortunate to have the opportunity to load and enjoy shooting your handholds! Sincerely. bruce.

Very simply , I use an RCBS case station with a case mouth deburing bit which doe a nice job of clipping off the staking points. I feed the bit with my left hand and then transfer to my right for a quick shot at the Giraud case trimmer before being dumped into the awaiting Thumler tumbler. I have been running 200 rnd batches lately and the effort is well worth it, in my mind.
