    Reloading the French 7.5x54mm

A few years ago I used 30.06 brass which I trimmed down to the 7.5 case length, and re-necked the brass for the French Round using a lot of case lube. The rounds seemed to work well in my 49/56 and 1936 Mas rifles. I plan to start reloading again for this round.

Does anyone have any opinions or tips on this reload? [I already know about using CCI hard rifle primers because of the free floating firing pin in the Mas 49/56.]

    Thanks for your input.

I went through all that, trimming, necking, but it was a lot of work for a couple rifles that shot like craaap. The 49/56 is very tempermental so it required some testing to get the load down.

I think I saw somewhere that now true French brass is available.

Grafs has 7.5 French brass for $51.99. 30/06 is $48.99. Both prices are for PRVI brass.

I agree, it is a lot of work and only fun if you get a kick out of the process of reloading like I do. However, I'm always looking for better ways of doing it though and I appreciate your input.

Nothing wrong at all with that Graf's brass. I used it my 49/56.
